Fox 23 How Volunteer Storm Spotters Help Save Lives

You may think of HAM radio as an outdated form of technology, but it is one of the most reliable ways to communicate during severe weather.

Hundreds of local storm spotters volunteer with SkyWarn to relay the most up-to-date information from the ground to the National Weather Service (NWS), of ten over their amateur radios.

Here’s a look a how SkyWarn has helped save lives in Green Country for a quarter century in Green Country.
