TARC – Maker Faire

Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement.

Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.

Featured Maker Faires take place around the world, including Tokyo, Rome, Shenzhen, Seoul, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona, Detroit, San Diego, Milwaukee, Kansas City and Tulsa.

Again this year the Tulsa Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the Tulsa Maker Faire and will sponsor a exhibit featuring our comm trailer with a lot of information about amateur radio today and what it takes to become a HAM.  While we have assembled a lot of basic info, we would like to display several interesting homebrew projects local hams have built to highlight the maker nature of amateur radio operators and we will have a GOTA station set up for visitors to make a VHF contact.

If you can help with your built project or help man the exhibit, please contact Steve KF5VCQ or use the form below
